There are a lot of numbers in our email and marketing automation reports, but you may want to know how your stats compare to others in the same industry. What kind of open rates should a company like yours expect? How many bounces are too many? What is an acceptable abuse complaint rate? The more context, the better.

We send millions of emails per month for millions of users. Needless to say, we track a lot of data. So we scanned the hundreds of millions of emails sent by our system (where campaign tracking was activated, and where users reported their industry) and calculated average unique open rates, click-through rates, soft bounce rates, hard bounce rates, and abuse complaint rates by industry.

We only track campaigns with at least 1,000 subscribers, but these stats aren't from surveys of large companies with multi-million dollar marketing budgets and dedicated email marketing teams. Our clients range from 1-person startups to Fortune 500 companies, so these numbers cover the entire spectrum. This is how you compare to others in your industry.

Another good way to check how well your emails are working is to look at your click-through rate. Click-through zalo database rate is a percentage that tells you how many of your successfully sent emails received at least 1 click. This number shows you whether your audience found the emails you sent relevant enough to click to see more.

Tips for improving your statistics

When it comes to subject matter, straightforward works best. So show , don’t sell, what’s inside.
If you want people to open your emails, you have to get through their spam filters first. The best way to avoid spam filters is to understand how they work.
Too many hard bounces are a sign of a stale list. Make sure you email your subscribers regularly (at least quarterly) so your list stays up to date.
A soft bounce usually means that the recipient is "temporarily unavailable." Perhaps they are on vacation, or their mailbox is full. You can keep these emails and try again later.
A hard bounce means that the email address failed. Maybe it no longer exists, or maybe someone made a typo when subscribing to your list. But hard bounces can also be spam filters - if you see an unusually high number of bounces after a campaign, read your bounce logs for any messages or clues from spam filters.
Abuse complaints occur when a recipient clicks the "this is spam" button in their email program. This usually means they don't remember you. Make sure your "From" and "Subject" lines include your company name so your subscribers recognize you immediately.
