Does my page already have keywords positioned in the Top 3?

When analyzing your page, it is likely that it already has keywords positioned in the Top 3.

Case #1 : If these keywords belong to the same lexical field and display the same results in the SERPs, you can optimize your page.
Example :

Let's say your keyword “laptop” is ranked 2nd and you're also ranked 8th for “laptop”. Since the SERP shows almost the same results, it's worth doing some optimization work!

Case #2 : If your keyword in the Top 3 is a general query with belgium phone number data more searches, and you want to work on a long tail keyword (example: “16-inch laptop”), avoid optimizing this page. You risk losing your top position.
Here, the best solution is to write another more specific article/page/subcategory to target the long tail and better meet the search intent.

Example :

In this case, I will instead create other category pages targeted at the brand “Lumix”, “Sony digital camera” or even “professional camera”.

Case #3 : If your keyword in the Top 3 is a query that belongs to another lexical field, here too, avoid optimizing this page, you risk losing your top position. Itead, focus on creating a specific page.
Example.
