Why did you decide to take our Master's in Digital Marketing and Social Media ?

Platforms and major technological advances provide us with a wide variety of channels that allow us to connect with our clients and potential customers , get to know them a little better, and, above all, provide them with opportunities to access their favorite hobby.

As Event Coordinator at Troll and Toad, what event are you most proud of? Tell us a little about the process of organizing it.
The Troll and Toad Cup was undoubtedly the greatest project we created, a circuit of competitive events for MTG (Magic the Gathering), YGO (Yu-Gi-Oh!), HC (Heroclix), and POK TGC (Pokémon Trading Cards Game) that we took to Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Argentina, Spain, Brazil, and Chile.

For two years, we held more than 350 tournaments with more than $30,000 USD in cash prizes and exclusive items.

At the same time, you worked as Digital Marketing Manager at Playcon. What digital marketing actions did you implement, and which ones worked best to achieve the brand's objectives?
PLAYCON was the first convention focused 100% on board games in Latin America. Our goal was to introduce this wonderful hobby, break out of the niche market, and reach a broader market. This was the biggest challenge, as large-scale events in Costa Rica had been around for several years. However, how did we attract this new audience? How could we scale an event on this topic? The strategy was to develop a 100% digital communications campaign focused on social media to attract potential attendees. We then created a website with all the event information and the option to purchase tickets online. As a result, the first event attracted 5,000 unique attendees and 12,000 visitors over the three days of the event.

During the development of these different events and projects, I discovered not only a great passion for the digital world, but also a world of opportunities for every type of objective, brand, product, or service. This Master's degree meets all my expectations for my development and growth as a marketing professional.

What did you like most about the Master's program and what resources did you use the most?
Phew... I could say there's no topic or resource I haven't used. I believe every syllabus and every module is vital for any digital project . But my favorite is the area of ​​Web Analytics and Performance Strategy Development.

At the beginning of the year, you started working for Grupo Nación, a leading media group in Costa Rica, as a Google AdWords Specialist. How did this shift in your career come about?
My story was different from what's usually the case, as many people start working for a company and later decide to pursue their own personal project. In my case, it was completely the other way around. We started our business many years ago, and some time later, I decided to dedicate myself fully to the digital world. Starting the Master's degree was a big step that opened the door to this path, which I have complemented with my experience accumulated over these years as an entrepreneur.
