The event began with a welcome from Luis Reyes Plasencia, Vice President of PMI Madrid Spain. After introducing the main topics of the session, Luis showed PMI's current innovations, taking the opportunity to speak in depth about PMI Infinitive, an Artificial Intelligence tool that seeks to "maximize the success of projects" and aspires to be a "world authority in the application of AI in the management and development of projects."
The main event of the afternoon then took place, the Round Table. Rose Mary Agüero Mora, from Telefónica Innovación Digital, was in charge of moderating it. The roundtable discussed topics of great current relevance, including the role of the project manager in an environment dominated by AI and automation, key skills to excel in the digital age, and the adaptation of hybrid methodologies to modern challenges. It also delved into how innovation and project management are being transformed by the impact of AI and other emerging technologies.
Óscar Quero shared, regarding the introduction of AI into a company’s processes, that “We must use common sense, make proper planning and use it in specific cases where it will bring benefits” and he also spoke of the importance of training workers “a lot is invested in the introduction of technology but not in training”. Around this idea, Elena Holgado and José Barato highlighted the importance of embracing AI as a support tool and using it to eliminate repetitive processes.
Addressing the importance of the project manager and his skills, Ignacio de los Ríos argued that “The role will be strengthened, the economy moves with projects in which we need a leader, adapting to new technologies. That is the future, an integrating agent of people and entities, the problems are complex, we need to look for synergies.” Alfonso also highlighted the capacity for adaptation that must be developed “we are in a world in constant change, in which we must constantly learn and unlearn.”

The moderator closed this debate by summarizing that the project manager will evolve into a "super manager": a professional capable of making decisions based on vast sets of data, with sensitivity and openness to change, and with the ability to foster fluid communication, especially in an environment where new technologies reduce direct contact between people.

The event ended with a question and answer session. The experts answered various concerns from the audience such as: The veracity of the data that the Project Manager will rely on if he works with AI tools, cybersecurity or how artificial intelligence will be used to overcome the barriers of interculturality.
