With less than a month to go before the Digital Markets Act (DMA) comes into force in the European Union next March, WhatsApp is preparing for what is probably the biggest change in its history. Under the DMA , the Meta subsidiary will fly the flag of interoperability and will be compatible with other messaging platforms from March 6. In other words, from that date, WhatsApp users will be able to send and receive messages from other messaging platforms and vice versa without ever having to leave the famous application.

In practice, the (absolutely seismic) change that anhui mobile phone numbers database will take place in WhatsApp in less than a month means that WhatsApp will be compatible with apps such as Telegram , Signal, Google Messages and Skype.

As of March 6, WhatsApp will have to be interoperable in order to comply with the precepts of the DMA , which requires large platforms that are known as "gatekeepers" to implement a series of improvements to their services (and interoperability is one of those improvements).

WhatsApp's interoperability with other messaging apps will be possible by maintaining the end-to-end encryption that governs the sending and receiving of messages at all times on the Meta subsidiary. WhatsApp's intention is for messaging services that connect to its platform to all use the Signal protocol to encrypt messages (although the application admits to being open to other alternative encryption protocols as long as they are aligned with its own security standards).
