Be Simple and Consistent

You cannot impress anyone with a resume that is disorganized in terms of content and form.

The important thing is to make the employer’s job easier by avoiding giving unnecessary information. To do this, make sure your content is written correctly, does not have different fonts or a complicated visual design, and clearly demonstrates your skills and experience.

An easy way to simplify your resume is to use bullet points. “The average recruiter or hiring manager spends only seconds reviewing an applicant’s resume,” says Alison Doyle, a recruiting expert at The Balance Career . “To get an interview, you need to highlight your experience quickly and effectively. A bulleted list can help you introduce yourself. It quickly and easily shows the employer that you’re a good fit for the job.”

The best fonts are simple and easy to read. Choose Arial albania telegram lead Times New Roman, or Calibri fonts in sizes 10 to 12 points. You can use 14-18 points and larger fonts for headings and subheadings, but remember to keep them all in one style.

Infographics can look cluttered in a CV and it is best not to use infographics.

While the creative designs may seem appealing, they frustrate recruiters who review hundreds of differently designed resumes a day, says Michelle Kruse of Career Cast .

Quick Tip : Go for short, sleek and simple.

3. Care About Who You Are Addressing

Make sure that all the information you include on your resume is relevant to the position you are applying for. Be selective about which experiences, social projects, and skills you include. For example, if you are applying for a job in advertising, listing your ballet training may not be relevant. However, if you started an online store or a part-time job while you were in high school, a social media campaign for that will stand out.
