Georgia expects to receive twice as much gas from Russia this year

According to the forecast of the Ministry of Economy, in 2025, Georgia's gas demand / supply will increase by 2.8%. In total, the country will receive 3.322 billion cubic meters of natural gas, including 400 million cubic meters from Russia, which is more than twice the forecast figure for 2024 - 200 million.

According to the 2025 natural gas balance, this year Georgia will again receive the largest part of its gas - 2.9 billion cubic meters - from Azerbaijan. Georgia will receive gas from the neighboring country, as in previous years, Switzerland business fax list from the Shah Deniz field and SOCAR. Including the additional and optional gas from the Azerbaijani gas pipeline, the total volume will be 1.598 billion cubic meters.

Forecast figures for gas consumption in 2025:

Azerbaijan - 2,907,655,000 cubic meters
Shah Deniz - 1,598,827,000 cubic meters (Shah Deniz additional - 509,996,000 cubic meters; optional 1,088,832,000 cubic meters)
Socar - 1 308 828 000 cubic meters
Russia - 400 million cubic meters
Local extraction 14,735,000 cubic meters
Total 3 322 390 000 (+2.8%)

As for consumption, this year gas consumption in Georgia will increase by 90.8 million cubic meters and reach 3.28 billion cubic meters.
