20 B2B Directories for Lead Generation

Post by tnplpramanik »

Web directories are great for several reasons: the businesses listed in them are already segmented by niche, size, geographic location, and other parameters; plus, many web directories will provide you with not only websites (which is already enough to generate a lead), but also local phone numbers and addresses that you can use for cold calling or postal marketing campaigns (don't laugh now, this method still works).

Once we have a list of websites, we generate email lists using bulk domain search or individually using email search tools.

Bottom line: more directories = more businesses = more websites = more leads.

Web directories for lead generation
Note: This list consists of web directories targeting US businesses only, as that market is typically the most desired for sales and marketing campaigns.

Yelp – One of the largest American small business directories on the Internet. If your target audience is small businesses, start with Yelp. You’ll find thousands of beauty salons, real estate agents, automotive companies, vietnam phone number data restaurants, home delivery services, etc.
CitySquares – This web directory has been in business for over 10 years. CitySquares allows easy search by city and industry.
Yellow Pages Directory – Another decent source for US-based small businesses segmented by cities, counties, and states.
Angie's List : A web directory focused on home services. If your target audience is businesses in the plumbing, roofing, heating, electrical, or remodeling industries, don't hesitate to try Angie's List to generate leads.
Local.com – A good source for local businesses. The search results seem a bit cluttered, but you can get used to that, considering the abundance of potential customers.
USCity – One of the oldest web directories on the market. Search results are not only loaded in list form, but are also highlighted on the map that always appears on the right side of the screen. If you focus on local businesses, try USCity!
Fave – Another web directory that displays local businesses on a map. Give it a try if you liked USCity mentioned above.
Merchant Circle – Another good option for local merchants and businesses. The great thing about this directory is that it also covers sole proprietorships and individual professionals.
Kompass – This directory doesn’t just focus on the US, it also covers more mid-level and enterprise businesses. So, if you need medium or large businesses, use Kompass to browse this niche!
Superpages – For us, this is more of a supersource for leads. Easily find local businesses, both small and medium-sized. It’s good for cold calling campaigns, as phone numbers appear in an even larger font than the company names.
MyHuckleberry - Not only searches for companies, but also for products. Good source of contacts if you need to find suppliers or resellers of specific products.

Combo Directory USA – This directory seems old school, but it’s actually a good source of established small businesses that have been around for years and are still in business. Navigating the industry is also very easy.
Insider Pages – Another good source for US-based small businesses. What sets it apart is the reviews – you can see if a business is still active by recent reviews.
City Data : information directory with interactive map, the only drawback of which is that it only contains data on a few niches: restaurants and schools.
USA Citylink – A web directory that is still alive despite being active since 1994. It doesn’t have many sectors or filters, but it is worth checking out because it offers comprehensive data for travelers and covers businesses related to them.
Best of the Web – Another web directory focused on local businesses displayed on a map. It’s not the best directory out there, of course, but it stands out for offering extensive detail per listing.
Akama - An easy-to-use web directory of not only companies, but also products. Good for small niche searches.
JustDial – A very stylish web directory of local businesses, providing websites and contact information, and also pricing, reviews and many other parameters that can be used to pre-qualify your potential customers. A mix between a product directory and a business directory.
Official USA : web directory that brings together not only local companies, but also federal institutions, radio stations, financial companies, media outlets, newspapers, etc. It has been active since 1997.
UpCity is a directory of B2B service providers and consultants, making it a great resource for B2B companies looking for support in communicating with customers in the US.
