New changes to how keywords are assigned in Google Ads

Google Ads has announced changes to how queries are assigned to keywords. What should advertisers know about this?
In early 2021, Google announced that exact match keywords , which are identical to the query string, will be preferred whenever that keyword is eligible to be matched, to help reduce account complexity. In September 2021, this rule was extended to include phrase and broad match . What should advertisers do? The goal of this change is to allow advertisers to feel more comfortable using broad match keywords without having to worry about losing control over existing keywords or more stringent match types.

What did Google actually announce?
In its September 23 announcement, Google ghana phone number data said it had made improvements to its keyword matching technology and also published changes to the rules for selecting keywords in your account.

Like every Google announcement, this one is phrased positively, like "Assigning the most relevant keyword to every search." Google says the update is designed to help you do the following:

· Maintain better control over which keywords match searches, especially with broad match.

· Reduce account complexity by having more control over where your traffic goes without having to deal with multiple match types.

· Ultimately, it allows you to more easily attract more relevant, high-performing traffic using fewer keywords.
