Yes, I know what you're thinking: "You come here at a good time, darling, with trends for 2018, since we're already two months into the year."

Yes, I know. But precisely because of that, because I've been reading so many articles about the "10 social media trends" or the "5 social media trends," that I'm no longer sure if there are ten, five, or 50 trends that will change social media marketing. That's why I'm not trying to tell you anything new here. I'm simply giving you my opinion. Because yes, I do believe some are and will be trends. But others aren't; I don't believe they'll prosper, at least not in 2018. And some... well, it depends.

Let's get to it.

Yes, and not only that.

The proliferation of chatbots on social media will accelerate in 2018 due to their ability to allow brands to continuously engage with their social media community, providing personalized and immediate responses for each user, as if they were talking to a human. They also facilitate the provision of additional services, support for sales channels and e-commerce, and a multitude of other options.

In Spain, brands such as the newspaper El País, the airline Air Europa, and the insurance company Mapfre already installed a chatbot on their Twitter profiles in 2017. According to Facebook, there are already more than 100,000 active chatbots on Facebook Messenger each month.

And the trend will only increase because there are whatsapp number list already free tools, such as Chatfuel, that allow anyone to design a simple chatbot without any programming knowledge (here I explain how to create a chatbot for Facebook ).
