Always use your phone's native "Contacts" app to add the contact. Do not try to add them directly through WhatsApp.
Include the Full International Format: This is absolutely critical for WhatsApp to recognize the number.
Always start with a plus sign (+).
Followed by the country code (e.g., 91 for India, 1 for USA germany phone number list /Canada, 44 for UK, 880 for Bangladesh).
Then the full phone number, omitting any leading zeros or special characters used for local dialing.
Example:

After adding new contacts or making changes to existing ones, you might need to manually refresh WhatsApp's contact list on your phone to prompt it to rescan your address book.

Open WhatsApp on your phone.
Go to the Chats tab.
Tap the New Chat icon (usually a speech bubble icon on Android, or a pencil/paper icon on iOS).
On the next screen, you should see your list of contacts. Tap the three dots (Android) or New Group/New Contact (iOS) menu.
Select Refresh (Android) or Reload Contacts (iOS).
WhatsApp will now rescan your phone's address book and identify any new or updated contacts who are also WhatsApp users.

Connecting and Using WhatsApp Desktop
Once your mobile contacts are in order, the desktop experience becomes seamless.

Download: If you haven't already, download the official WhatsApp Desktop application from the WhatsApp website (whatsapp.com/download) or your computer's app store (Microsoft Store for Windows, App Store for Mac). Avoid third-party versions for security reasons.
Open: Launch the WhatsApp Desktop app.
Step 2: Link Your WhatsApp Account

When you open WhatsApp Desktop for the first time, you'll see a QR code.
On your phone:
Android: Open WhatsApp > Tap the three dots in the top right corner > Tap Linked Devices.
iPhone: Open WhatsApp > Go to Settings > Tap Linked Devices.
Tap Link a Device.
Use your phone's camera to scan the QR code displayed on your computer screen.
Step 3: Watch Your Contacts Appear

Once linked, WhatsApp Desktop will synchronize with your phone. All the contacts that your WhatsApp mobile app recognizes (because they are in your phone's address book and use WhatsApp) will automatically appear in your WhatsApp Desktop contact list. You can then search for them by name and initiate conversations.
