Telefónica is looking for the best startups from seven

Open Future, Telefónica's initiative to promote regional entrepreneurship as part of its open innovation strategy, has today opened the 1st Call Open Future Spain 2022, an initiative with which it seeks the best disruptive technology-based startups that are developing anywhere in the country.
This first call for applications in 2022 is looking for people passionate about technology with projects that want to revolutionize traditional industries through new technologies and the latest trends in virtual reality, artificial intelligence, machine learning, Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, computer vision, biotechnology, eSports, gaming, Agrotech, cybersecurity, e-Health and cloud, among others.
This I Call of Open Future 2022 has mom data the participation of seven 'hubs', the largest number ever held in a call. The 'hubs' participating in this edition are El Ángulo (Ceuta), Gran Vía (Madrid), Carthago (Murcia), Green M1 (Tarragona) and La Atalaya (Badajoz).
As a novelty, the two recent additions to Open Future are participating: the Lonja de la Innovación hub of the Port of Huelva and the Incubazul hub of the Zona Franca de Cádiz. The Lonja de la Innovación initiative is a support programme for entrepreneurship by the Port Authority of Huelva and Telefónica to promote initiatives related to innovation in port logistics based on fiware technology. The Incubazul hub is an initiative of the Consortium of the Zona Franca de Cádiz that seeks to contribute to the creation and consolidation of new companies linked to the Blue Economy.
Inês Oliveira, Global Director of Open Future, says that "with this call from Open Future we reinforce our commitment to providing a solid value proposition to our entrepreneurs and to comply with the decentralization of entrepreneurship by joining the Open Future network of 2 new hubs: the Port of Huelva and the Zona Franca de Cádiz."

The selected projects will form part of the Telefónica Open Future global ecosystem and will have the opportunity to strengthen and scale their projects over a period of between 4 and 9 months. In addition to achieving greater visibility, the selected startups will receive advice from a team of mentors made up of top professionals who are experts in different areas of Telefónica. The programme also provides access to numerous networking events with other entrepreneurs, institutions and potential investors from around the world.
