Best online training platforms or E-Learning

Post by kumartk »

If you are considering becoming an online teacher, you must first know what an LMS is , since you need a place to host your courses and from where you can deliver them to your users.

Learning Management Systems (LMS) are a type of software that allows the creation of a virtual online training campus.

This is what we know as e-Learning platforms or online training platforms.

There are two large groups : On the one hand, commercial platforms (let's call them "private") and on the other hand, free and open source platforms (designed to be freely distributed and developed).

1.- Most important commercial platforms for online training
It is clear that one of the most important points to start creating and selling online pharmaceutical email lists courses is to choose an online training platform that adapts to your needs and requirements.

It is not an easy task, since there are a large number of training platforms on the Internet and although they have common characteristics, they can vary in essential aspects.

However, I want to leave you with the most popular ones below and tell you the basics of each one so that you can make an informed decision when choosing one online training platform or another.

Udemy
It is more focused on the student , although it also has an option for teachers to provide online training (although they do not have full control over their students).

Most of the time you can upload just videos and accompany them with some documentation (for example, a PDF or a Power Point), and it must go through a review before being available to students.

Another drawback is that creating and publishing the course is free, but you need to be a Premium teacher to charge for your material.

Your earnings also vary depending on how the student signs up for your courses (if they sign up through Udemy you earn 50% and if you are the one who brings the student you earn 97%).

It is mainly oriented towards the English language .

Khan Academy
This well-known online training platform allows you to create a teacher account and start teaching instantly, but it has one particularity: it is a non-profit organization , in which all the material is free and supported by donations.

It may not be the best option if you want to make your knowledge profitable, although it can be a good option to make yourself known with more basic online training.

Many teachers use this option to support their face-to-face classes .

ClassOnLive
ClassOnLive is an online training platform that has been around for several years with great success, partly due to its ease of use.

Its main feature is that it is entirely dedicated to teachers , who create their own online academy on the web with their own payment system.

You don't need to install anything and you can create courses of various types (via webinars, video, with documentation, videoconferencing, etc.). There are currently three plans available at a very good price with different functionalities. You can try it for 15 days for free.

Tutellus
Although it is student-oriented, it is another online training platform that also has an area for teachers.

You must enroll in a course as a student to access the online teacher account.

You can upload any type of format and the website takes a 30% commission if your courses are paid for. In addition, it does not provide you with information about your students, which would be very useful for future calls.

Teachlr
On this e-Learning platform you can be both a teacher and a student with the same account. You have the option to create the content of your online course on the same platform.

In case of paid training, Teachlr keeps a 30% commission.

Wiziq
Although it is focused on being more of a videoconferencing platform than a traditional online training platform, it can be an excellent support for teachers to create virtual classrooms or webinars.

It is not as complete as the previous ones, but it is easy to use if you need a very very specific tool.

HotMart
A very complete online training platform , as it allows your buyers to pay in their country's currency. It has a 10% commission. However, your brand can be overshadowed because you do not have full control over your students.

Verbling
Highly focused on language teaching . The process of creating your profile as a teacher is not immediate, it has to go through a review by the website administrators.

It is recommended to have experience and be a native speaker of the language you want to teach.

All these online training platforms have in common that they enable flexible and economical training, eliminate geographical and temporal distances, can be used with minimal knowledge of technology and allow interaction between tutor and student.

Let's now look at open source online course platforms .

2.- Open source platforms for your online courses
As open source platforms we have Moodle, Canvas, or Chamilo for example, they are undoubtedly the three best known and the most used in online teaching.

However, I find it more interesting to use a trading platform for many reasons. Some of them could be:

They are more difficult to implement
Open source platforms are difficult to implement for a beginner (or even an average) online training user, so you will probably need the help of a professional (for a fee, of course) to install the entire system, configure it, and get it working.

They lack full-time technical support
Although you can usually find some help, such as tutorials or other users to guide you along the way, they usually do not have technical support as such where you can make complaints or ask questions.

No one is responsible for any malfunction.
If you choose an open source platform to deliver your online training, choose one that has an active user community or else you will face unsolvable problems.

Open Source platforms are non-profit
Open source platforms are not-for-profit, and while this can be a positive aspect, we must keep in mind that they may lose funding in a short time and abandon their development, which means that your online course system may become obsolete in a short time.

They are a type of online training more suitable for individuals
Another fact that shows the disadvantages of open source platforms is that they are still a minority option for individuals. They are used by large companies and universities, which may make contact between users more difficult.

If time is important to you and you want or need an e-Learning platform soon, my advice is to choose a commercial platform, where you can organize your online course in just a few minutes.

And if you are also interested in taking a specific training course, I leave you a post where you can find the main types of training for your company .

Security
The disadvantages associated with system security are an important aspect to consider in open source platforms.

As you can see, open source ones require more time to start and configure the entire activity.

However, on many of the commercial online training platforms we have mentioned, you simply create your account and start working.

As you can see, choosing the most suitable platform requires some time on your part, although as you can see, the possibilities are almost endless…

So, before choosing the online training platform on which you are going to teach and sell your courses, you may need a guide with some steps to follow so that your online courses are effective and sell easily.

We give you some recommendations…
