Amazon Amazon isn't cutting back on all of its social impact programs

Post by roshniakter123 »

Unfortunately, when discussing social corporate responsibility, this often passes through a business filter. So, in this case, we have two perspectives: Amazon's perspective and the nonprofit beneficiary's perspective. Instead, it seems to me that companies generally recognize the importance of committing to social change and are often held accountable by investors and markets. At the same time, for any company, especially one as large and influential as Amazon, the consequences of society's impact on business needs are structural and have certain rewards.

Based on my analysis of the situation, while the Amazon Smile cambodia mobile database program does have a social impact, it may not result in meaningful change or returns for Amazon. Why do I think so? Here are the questions I asked myself: Can the AmazonSmile program increase a company's sales simply through the desire to donate to a cause? Probably not. Is AmazonSmile easy enough to exist without much effort? Again, probably not.

Companies need to commit money and resources to the program, including getting the system up and running, providing support to nonprofits and consumers, allocating resources, and, of course, a significant marketing effort to make the program known and useful. Are the results and investments achieved by the nonprofit aligned with Amazon’s areas of impact? In some cases yes, but in this plan, Amazon provides general support and does not apply to specific business purposes and reasons.
