Formerly known as Google Keyword Tool, Google Keyword Planner is another free tool from the search engine giant.

To access the Keyword Planner:

Visit this page and click on "Access Keyword Planner".
Once you have set up your account, click on "Tools" in the menu bar
Select "Switch to expert mode".
You will then see the Keyword Planner link french email address list on the main menu page.
You will find two options: "Find new keywords" and "Get search volume and forecasts".

To find keywords, click "Find New Keywords." You can enter specific keywords or even your website URL to determine keywords that are relevant.

So if you enter your business website, Google will give you SEO-friendly keyword suggestions. Each suggestion provides the average monthly searches (keyword volume) and the competition. Here's an example from McDonald's website:

Take a look at the keyword idea, "mcdonalds home delivery". The average monthly searches are in the range of 1000 to 10000 and the competition for the keyword is described as "medium".

Note: When referring to “competition” within Google Ads, it’s important to note that competition in Google Keyword Planner refers to advertisers bidding on a given keyword, not organic competition.

Google Keyword Planner gives you many great ideas for your paid keywords and also for building a broader keyword strategy.

Google Search Console
Google Search Console is another free tool that is useful for monitoring your website’s performance in terms of organic search engine traffic. You can use it to find new keywords and get data on the ones you are ranking for, so you can determine their usefulness.

Then enter your domain. You will need to verify that you own it, either by using DNS lookup or by uploading an HTML file to your website.

Alternatively, you can add an HTML tag to your site or use your Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager account. Once you are in, you will see your dashboard.

To see how your keywords are performing, download the Search Results Report. Sort the report by Click-Through Rate (CTR) from low to high to find new keywords. This will show you unexpected keywords that you rank for but aren’t actively considering. Keywords with lots of impressions and a low CTR may be worth considering (e.g. building a new content page around that keyword).
