Wharton School professor Jonah Berger identified six factors that determine content virality:
Social currency : Most people need to feel social approval and support from other users, so they try to share content that paints an image of an educated, smart and successful person.
Triggers . Anchor topics that will be relevant and discussed at the moment. This should be something that surrounds all users and is present in everyday life.
Emotions . The engine of distribution. As we said before, they should not be exclusively positive, they should be strong and cause a reaction. Content that causes weak emotions will only be a fleeting response.
Publicity . The popularity and distribution of content soars if it is reposted by bloggers and other media personalities. Such publications inspire trust and greater interest among the audience.
Practical value . Benefit for others is another key to content virality. Information that can explain, suggest, improve, or help in some way will spread at an incredible speed.
Stories . Real-life incidents or stories with a “face” evoke a greater response than a dry presentation of events. Events with main characters are better remembered and more often evoke emotions in users, therefore, they are more willingly shared.

12 Tips for Creating Viral Content
Any post can go viral, regardless of its content. Here are some tips for creating viral content:
Press on emotions
This is not the first time we have said that viral content should be expressive, only then can you get the expected response. Emotions should be either positive, these can be humorous videos and sketches, or materials that cause anger, fear, anxiety, worry, sympathy, etc.
For content to go viral, it must be significantly different from other materials. It could be criticism, a recommendation, your own opinion and position on a particular event, an out-of-the-ordinary situation, or something that will be unusual and interesting to many. For example, an article about how a street cat became the mayor of a city.
One of the most striking examples of virality is an event that took place in the fall of 2019. Facebook users were actively discussing the mobile phone debt that had accumulated in the hands of... an eagle. Ornithologists who were studying the bird's migration received information about its movements thanks to SMS messages sent from the SIM card in its tracking device.
Commentators suggested that Megafon, which was the operator that owned the SIM card, should release a new tariff plan specifically for flying animals. The company actively participated in the discussions and, having listened to the advice of the audience, promised to release an eagle tariff.
